Weston Beach

Fun days out at Weston seaside

One of the longest and naturally occurring beaches in the UK.

Enjoy the golden sands, and try your hand at outdoor water sports. Kite surfing is very popular at the Uphill Sands end of the beach.

The beach often plays host to major events such as the Pro Nationals, Weston Beach Race, Weston-super-Mare Air Festival and music concerts.

Family fun

Your kids will love meeting the donkeys on the beach in summer. It’s the perfect day out for kids with the Grand Pier nearby, children’s rides and plenty of places to get an ice cream and fish & chips.

Dog walking

Bring your dogs! There are no restrictions between:

  • the Grand Pier and Knightstone Island; or
  • Royal Sands and Uphill beach

But dogs are not allowed between The Grand Pier and Royal Sands during May – September.

A word of caution

The beach has a huge tidal range. Check the live tide times before you leave. If you get caught out trying to cross the mud, you are very likely to get stuck!

Every year the local Coastguards rescue tourists who cross the line and enter into the mud. But rest assured, our beach is completely safe for all ages as long as the warning signs are adhered to.
